NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU.
Welcome to Malta Thaiboxing. We opened our doors in 2010 as the first Thaiboxing club in Malta. Since then we have grown into a home for anyone willing to put in the work, no matter their skill level.
Here you will find community and discipline side by side. Everyone is welcome, but everyone is expected to push. We train in ways that are unorthodox and out of the box, because real growth comes from being challenged. Students push themselves and each other to improve, and the effort you put in will always show.
To me Muay Thai is more than a sport. It is a lifestyle. It teaches you to stay calm under pressure, to be strong when you feel weak, and to stand on your own when no one else is there to lean on. If you come with drive and commitment you will go far. If you slack off, someone will catch you on it.
No one is coming to save you. Learn to save yourself.

The Gym
Malta Thaiboxing is based in Ta’ Xbiex, on Triq Enrico Mizzi, just by ST Tower and Sterling Car Rentals. Easy to reach, only a short walk from the nearest bus stop
The space is open plan, built with a lot of DIY and duct tape. It feels raw and hand made, the way a fight gym should. We have heavy bags, light bags, pin bags, and Thai pads. There is equipment for rent and a small selection of weights for functional training. The changing and locker area is large enough for everyone to settle in before and after training.
The gym has a hard working, no frills atmosphere. It is home made and community driven. Music is always on, mostly classic tracks, and the walls are covered with photos, memories, and reminders of the people who built this place. The flags that hang above the mats have all been donated by students, each one meant to make everyone who turns up feel at home.
The Community
At Malta Thaiboxing we follow the simple idea that iron sharpens iron. Students are encouraged to help each other learn, to push each other, and to grow together. Fighters and complete beginners share the mats. They train side by side, but also have time to work separately when needed.
Classes always begin and end with a bow in and bow out, a tradition kept since the gym opened in 2010. Birthdays are marked in our own way, usually with extra burpees or something just as mean, a reminder that every day here counts.
Outside the gym we stay connected. We organise events and parties, cook outs, beach training, trips to restaurants, games nights, and even some community service work. Students keep in touch and make sure no one is left out.
The community here is straightforward and tough skinned. We are a family that holds each other accountable, inside and outside the gym.
Our Mascots
Malta Thaiboxing is also home to three cats who have become part of the gym. Stamp, a ginger girl, her brother Rodtang, and Yodkhunpon, a tuxedo boy who joined a year and a half later. All three were rescued and found their place here.
The two boys spend a lot of time in the gym, especially during the cooler months. They watch training, play with students, and sometimes join in by climbing where they should not.
Students love them. They are friendly, always around for a scratch or some attention, and they have a habit of begging for food.
They are more than pets. They are the mascots of Malta Thaiboxing, part of the family and part of what makes the gym feel like home.
